Do you need earrings for Christmas? No. You don’t. The work I choose to do doesn’t change lives or impact the world. But it has changed my life and impacted my little world. It started as a way to put my head and my heart into something during a time I felt overwhelmed. It was a cathartic way to grieve and hope and tell a story. It became my therapy. Over time, my heart healed more than I could have imagined.
Working from home is something I started when I worked as a designer for a paper goods company based in Utah in 2013. I had been in the corporate office setting for seven years so the transition proved to be a challenge. As it turned out, it would eventually become the foundation I didn’t know I would benefit from when running a small business out of my home. My favorite part of the work day is just after I’ve poured the day’s earrings, they are curing and I get to photograph yesterday’s work. It allows that important feeling of productivity to be real because I can then share it with you. I don’t have a team or colleagues, I have you. You are who I share the progress with. You are the water cooler I spill my random thoughts to. You help me determine if it still matters and if there is still space for it. All this to say, thanks.
